Choosing the right CCTV system for you and your business
High definition CCTV
Just as you now get to enjoy watching TV and film in high definition, so you can benefit from the same technology applied to today’s CCTV systems. And as with high definition TV, this technology gives users a crisper, cleaner and more enhanced image when compared to standard resolution cameras.
If you’ve already got a CCTV system installed and want to upgrade to high definition, you might be concerned that it’s a major investment. In fact, we can often use existing wiring making an upgrade simpler, less expensive and less time consuming than you might think. There are many reasons why you’ll want to consider HD CCTV. Crystal clear images make for more effective monitoring of your premises and in the event of a crime occurring, are more helpful to prosecutor s. Sophisticated intruders tend to stay alert to camera systems and understand that HD technology is not good news for them. Make sure your camera system is highly visible and it will act as an effective deterrent.
Benefits of HD CCTV
- Reduced likelihood of crime helps to make staff and customers feel more secure and raise the profile of your business.
- Cost efficient systems use low voltage and motion detection to reduce costs.
- Crystal clear digital imaging allows recording and playback – essential for viewing and retaining evidence in the case of an incident.
- Discrete systems are available to suit a variety of properties and requirements.
- Use internally and externally to protect property, people, vehicles and valuables.
- Advanced digital recording provides 100% picture capture (as opposed to 5% analogue capture).
- Monitor your premises remotely using our smartphone app – view your CCTV feed from anywhere in the world!
- High quality images adapt to changing light conditions using LED to en sure clarity.
- Easy to use interface enables simple access to footage when needed.
In many ways, it’s a no brainer. Upgrade today to enjoy the very best high definition experience.
IP CCTV cameras
If you’re looking for something even more impressive than HD CCTV, you need IP (internet protocol) CCTV. This technology has catapulted CCTV firmly into the future.
Razor-sharp images are just the beginning. With all your cameras and smart devices connected on the same network, you get to enjoy a raft of additional functionality.
The main benefit is that you no longer need to be in the building to see what’s being captured on camera, perfect for weekends, holidays or for smaller businesses which aren’t always staffed throughout the day. As long as you have an
internet connection and a smart device, you’ll be in control of what’s happening in and around your premises. See something suspicious? You can raise the alarm instantly. And if you’re otherwise engaged, you can still opt for remote monitoring where we keep an eye on things for you.
You’ll also love the digital image resolution which is up to six times higher than that of a standard analogue system. No matter how small a detail, you can zoom in and study it in full technicolour.
So, what about that added functionality? Every CCTV system varies so it’s worth shopping around to get the features you want. Choose from:
- Facial recognition
- Motion detection
- Two way audio
- Automatic number plate recognition
You can also choose analytics packages if that’s something that might benefit your business. Cameras in retail outlets can monitor footfall and analyse direction of travel, among other things, to help store staff make decisions on where the most
profitable products should go.
Which IP CCTV camera should I choose?
There are two main types of camera: bullet cameras and dome cameras. They have some features in common but also some subtle differences.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The shape is as the name suggests, long and bullet-like. This makes the camera ideal for longer range viewing in sites such as car parks and warehouses. They are great quality cameras however, can be vulnerable to vandalism or being knocked out of position to avoid recording crimes in action. It’s recommended that they’re positioned higher up, preferably in an inaccessible location
Like bullet cameras these are also suitable for indoor and outdoor use, however they are sturdier and the dome-shaped design helps to protect against vandalism. Choose from fixed or moveable cameras and wide angle lenses
