Gates, Barriers & Turnstiles Enquiry
Are you looking for something that stands the test of time, looks impressive but also protects your business? Look no further. But with so much choice on the market, how do you decide which security gates are right for you? Sliding or hinged? Metal or wooden? Let’s review the options.
Sliding and hinged gates
The choice between sliding or hinged gates usually comes down to your site layout and what will work best. They’re both typically used where vehicle access is required (warehouses, car parks, industrial estates, retail parks etc). Hinged (or swing) gates require access openings of up to 12 metres but if you don’t have sufficient depth, sliding gates may be suitable. You can also choose between single or double leaf gates up to 6 metres per leaf.
We can custom make each gate to exactly suit your requirements. You can choose from a range of materials including galvanised or powder-coated steel. It’s also up to you whether doors open automatically or manually. Our suppliers engineer their products to the highest standards using both electro-mechanical and hydraulic operators so your gates open and close smoothly and silently and require minimal ongoing maintenance. And as a bonus, power consumption is surprisingly low. Take care of your gates and they’ll take care of you for years to come.
Add-on security features are also available so you can choose the level of protection that’s appropriate. We provide you with access controls and other automatic functions including card readers, induction loops, push buttons and radio transmitters and receivers. Essentially, whichever solution works best for the client ensuring ease of use and access and yet still maintaining security against unauthorised entry.
For locations where visitors enter on foot as well (or instead of) a vehicle, a separate pedestrian gate is a good idea. From a safety aspect, it’s advised to encourage pedestrians to use a traffic-free entrance point. Pedestrian gates are often used as a complementary entrance to a sliding or hinged gate (or other access point such as barriers and turnstiles).
Silver Group offers a wide range of pedestrian gates in different styles, finishes and sizes which come as standard. Or you might want/need a bespoke gate, due to practical constraints or for aesthetic reasons. Whatever you’re looking for, you can be sure that at Silver Group, we’ve got all bases covered.
All gates are manufactured from steel which can be either galvanised or powder-coated. We can also add security devices to the top of gates including barbed wire or spikes.
For a superlative experience, all our pedestrian gates have soft close fittings as standard.
Whatever you choose, remember that we offer full integration with existing and new security systems.
All our gates are fully compliant with current British Safety standards and CE certification standards. We provide health and safety certification for your records.
Metal and wooden gates
While other security companies only offer basic metal gates, Silver Group can supply and install a wide range of metal finishes including galvanised or powder-coated in a colour to suit the client. If you prefer a wooden finish, we also supply metal framed gates finished with wooden fascia. These are available in many finishes including stained varnishes or multi-coated matching paint.
Turnstiles are an ideal way to boost your current access control systems. They allow you to limit foot traffic to a single, secure entry point. Benefits include:
- Control entry and exit of pedestrians, especially useful for large numbers
- Count/measure flow of foot traffic in and out of your building
- Immediately prohibit entry and exit by locking turnstile
- Higher visibility of those coming and going than via conventional door
- Puts off would-be intruders who are more visible
- Ensure receipt of payment or tokens where necessary
We offer a wide range of turnstiles for a variety of applications from half-height turnstiles (ideal for schools, leisure centres, train stations and libraries) to full-height turnstiles (typically seen in sports venues and more industrial settings).
If your fire risk assessment requires it, we can supply turnstiles fitted with emergency override mechanisms, freeing up the access point during an evacuation.
At Silver Group, we offer full integration with other security technology creating highly effective security systems. A turnstile is an ideal point at which to place 2-way audio or video intercoms, keycard access points, security cameras, or biometric fingerprint scanners.
Rising arm barriers put the control of traffic flow in and out of your premises firmly in your hands. They provide the ideal access control solution and are suitable for a range of premises such as warehouses, car parks, factories, freight depots, business parks, police stations and schools.
If you have a specific design or colour in mind, we can take care of it. Choose from automatic or manual and pick from a range of access control options including:
- Push button
- Radio fobs
- Proximity readers
We’ll visit you on-site, conduct a thorough survey and then make our recommendations.
